GLT (Gemology Laboratory of Türkiye), Türkiye’s first domestic gemology laboratory, was launched in 2016 with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency. At GLT, hundreds of people were given "Diamond Trainings" to expand national awareness about certification and to ensure knowledge transfer through seminars and training that reached thousands of people in all areas of Türkiye.
In 2017, a Laboratory Quality Management System in accordance with TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 was established. In 2022, GLT Laboratory has started its international collaboration with Diamond Services (DS) to provide %100 accurate service for our industry and end consumers in synthetic and natural diamonds. After this cooperation, the lab has started its overall transition on new processes, software and hardware updates, staff trainings in accordance with the updated Quality Management System.
GLT-DS, which started its work on product safety in 2022 with the financial support of the Istanbul Development Agency, continues to work rapidly to put the system, which is called Hallmark in the international literature, into operation in Türkiye very recently.
